Alleged Vote Manipulation in Muara Enim Regional Election, OC Kaligis Reports to Bawaslu

JAKARTA The attorney for the candidate pair for regent and deputy regent of Muara Enim 2024, Nasrum Umar and Lia Anggraini, OttoOK Kaligis, reported alleged violations in the implementation of the Muara Enim Regency Pilkada. The report was submitted to the Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu).

"We have come to report alleged violations and fraud in the process of selecting the Regent and Deputy Regent of Muara Enim 2024," said OC Kaligis in his statement, Wednesday, December 4.

OC Kaligis explained that his party found indications of manipulation of vote count results affecting the acquisition of pair number 3, Nasrum Umar-Lia Anggraini, which was promoted by the Gerindra Party.

According to him, when the vote count reached more than 50 percent, pair number 3 was 10 percent superior to its competitors. However, the two-time power outage incident during the counting process allegedly caused a drastic change in the results.

"When the pair number 3 was ahead of pair number 2, suddenly the lights went out twice. After the electricity turned on again, the number 3 pair's vote acquisition rate dropped drastically, so the pair number 2 turned superior," explained OC Kaligis.

The alleged fraud report has been registered with Number 002/PL/PB/KAB/06.08/XI/2024. His party also submitted a letter of application to Bawaslu Muara Enim for the report to be followed up.

OC Kaligis said that there were allegations of data manipulation of white groups (golput) that were recorded differently between the results of the recapitulation of Forkopimda and the final data of Bawaslu.

"In the documents we received, Bawaslu data noted that the number of goals was different from the final recap of Forkopimda, which indicated manipulation," he added.

He hopes that Bawaslu will immediately examine and follow up on the report to ensure that the integrity of the Muara Enim Pilkada is maintained.
