Kakorlantas Calls 5 Provinces The Main Goal At Christmas And New Year

JAKARTA - Police Traffic Police Chief Inspector General Aan Suhanan said there are five provinces that will be the main destinations for Christmas 2024 and New Year 2025.

The mapping was based on the results of a survey conducted by the Transporation Policy Agency or BKT at the Ministry of Transportation.

"The highest destinations are East Java, Central Java, West Java, Yogyakarta and North Sumatra," said Aan during a Hearing Meeting (RDP) with Commission III of the DPR RI in Senayan, Central Jakarta, Wednesday, December 4.

Meanwhile, for provinces whose people will travel the most, namely East Java, Central Java, Jabodetabek, West Java, and North Sumatra.

The mapping is said to be very important to determine the pattern of traffic control in the region.

"This is very important to manage traffic flow based on data from survey results," he said.

Still referring to the survey results, the most people will choose private vehicles to travel, both two and four wheels.

As for general transportation, people still use it. However, the number is not too much.

"The choice of this highest mode of transportation is that people will use a private car of 36.07 percent, which will use a motorcycle of 17.71 percent, which can use 15.04 percent, this train is 12.8 percent, the aircraft is 8.85 percent," said Aan.

Meanwhile, 110 million people will travel during the Christmas 2024 and New Year 2025 moments. That figure also increased when compared to the previous year.

When compared with 2023 data, as many as 107 million people throughout Indonesia make movements to various regions during Christmas and New Year's Eve. This means that there was an increase of 2.8 percent.
