JAKARTA Facing the rainy season accompanied by strong winds, the Central Jakarta City Parks and Forests Sub-department cut trees on the land of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government's assets. The maintenance of trees on the road which is an asset of the Jakarta Provincial Government is carried out to prevent unwanted things from happening.

"As of December 2, 2024, 11,864 trees have been trimmed with mild, moderate, to severe categories. The number will continue to grow every day, not including handling splinter and fallen trees," said Head of the Central Jakarta City Parks and Forests Sub-dept., Mila Ananda when confirmed by VOI, Wednesday, December 4.

In addition, a tree health check was carried out in collaboration with the DKI Jakarta Provincial Parks and Forest Service. Trees that are declared unhealthy or heavy roughness are recommended to be cut down.

"We are coordinating with the DKI Jakarta Provincial Parks and Forest Service to check tree health. The results of these checks are a recommendation for the Central Jakarta City Parks and Forests Sub-department to treat these trees," he said.

"If the results of the examination are known to be unhealthy trees (severe roughness), then logging will be carried out," he added.
