PDIP Officially Fires Effendi Simbolon

JAKARTA - The Central Board (DPP) of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) officially dismissed Effendi Muara Sakto Simbolon as a party member.

The congestion was stated in a letter signed by PDIP General Chair Megawati Sorkarnoputro, and PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto, dated November 28, 2024.

The news of Effendi Muara Sakto Simbolon's dismissal as a PDIP cadre was also confirmed by the Chairman of the PDIP DPP Djarot Saiful Hidayat.

"It's true, the person concerned has been fired from the party," Djarot told reporters, Saturday, November 30.

However, Djarot did not explain in detail the reasons behind the dismissal of Effendi Muara Sakto Simbolon. It is only stated that there was a violation of party ethics committed.

"The person concerned violates the party's code of ethics, discipline and AD/ART," said Djarot.

The dismissal of Effendi Muara Sakto Simbolon is suspected to be due to differences in attitude with PDIP which only supports Ridwan Kamil-Suswono in the Jakarta Pilkada.

It is known, in the Jakarta Pilkada contestation, PDIP supports and carries Pramono Anung-Rano Karno as a candidate for governor and deputy governor.
