Today's Weather, BMKG Predicts Rain In Most Parts Of Indonesia

JAKARTA The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) estimates the potential for rain in most cities in Indonesia, including in Java, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, and the eastern region of the archipelago.

BMKG forecaster Maria Klaudiana explained that several cities on the island of Sumatra are predicted to experience rain with varying intensity.

Medan is predicted to experience heavy rain, while Tanjung Pinang, Pangkal Pinang, and Jambi may experience thunderstorms. Meanwhile, light rain is expected to fall in Banda Aceh, Pekanbaru, Palembang, and Bandar Lampung, with thick cloudy weather in Padang and Bengkulu.

"In Java, Serang is expected to be thick cloudy, while light rain has the potential to fall in Jakarta, Semarang, Yogyakarta, and Surabaya. Beware of the potential for rain accompanied by lightning and lightning in Bandung," said Maria.

For the Bali and Nusa Tenggara regions, the potential for light rain is predicted to occur in Denpasar and Mataram. Kupang has the potential to experience rain accompanied by lightning.

Rain with various intensities is also predicted to hit the island of Kalimantan. BMKG warns of the potential for thunderstorms in Tanjung Selor, Samarinda, and Banjarmasin. Meanwhile, light rain is predicted to fall in Pontianak and Palangkaraya.

In Sulawesi, all major cities are expected to experience rain. The potential for thunderstorms is in Manado and Mamuju, while Gorontalo, Palu, Kendari and Makassar are predicted to have light rain.

The eastern part of Indonesia will also receive rain. Rainfall is expected in Ambon, Sorong, Nabire, and Merauke. Meanwhile, light rain is likely to fall in Ternate, Manokwari, Jayapura, and Jayawijaya.

BMKG urges the public to remain alert to the potential for extreme weather that can occur in various regions.
