Elected As New KPK Chair, Setyo Budiyanto: Please Support And Pray

JAKARTA - The elected chairman of the KPK for the 2024-2029 period, Setyo Budiyanto, asked for prayers and support for the newly elected leadership. He said the trust and trust from the community would be well maintained.

"With my election as chairman, of course this is a people's trust and a mandate that I must maintain and carry out as well as possible with the other four leaders," said Setyo when contacted by reporters, Thursday, November 21.

"Please support and pray," continued the Inspector General of the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan).

Setyo is also grateful that the process of selecting the leadership of the anti-corruption commission he is participating in can run smoothly. "All because of God's will, the support of wives, children and families," he said.

Setyo said preparations had been made since last year. He ensured that all these decisions were taken independently.

"And personally I really appreciate the process that is carried out transparently," he said.

As previously reported, Commission III of the DPR appointed five KPK leaders for the 2024-2029 period in a plenary meeting on Thursday, November 21.

Those elected were Setyo Budianto with 46 votes, Johanis Tanak 48 votes, Fitroh Rohcahyanto with 48 votes, Agus Joko Pramono 39 votes, and Ibnu Basuki Widodo 33 votes.

Setyo was then elected as Chairman of the KPK for the period 2024-2029. He got 45 votes.
