2 People Bringing Methamphetamine From East Lombok Arrested At Bakauheni Port

South Lampung Police revealed a case of circulating methamphetamine in the Seaport Interdiction examination area, Bakauheni Port by arresting two suspects with the initials AZ (25) and MP (18).

"Yes, that's right, the two suspects from East Lombok were arrested on Sunday (17 November) night, along with evidence of six packages of methamphetamine," said South Lampung Police Chief, AKBP Yusriandi Yusrin, in Kalianda, Wednesday, November 20, confiscated by Antara.

He said the arrests were made after a narcotics smuggling report was followed up by the South Lampung Police Narcotics Unit by moving to conduct an inspection of the Pelangi Putra bus that was about to cross at Bakauheni Port.

According to him, from the results of the examination, the team found six plastics containing white crystals, which were suspected of being hidden in the bodies of the two suspects.

"Evidence and the two perpetrators were secured for investigation. This smuggling is suspected to involve networks between provinces using public transportation," he said.

He explained that the chronology of arrests shows the accuracy of officers in checking passengers and vehicle trunks.

"The female perpetrator, AZ, admitted that the methamphetamine would be sent to one of the big cities in Sumatra, while the perpetrators of teenagers, MP, were suspected of being couriers," he said.

The police also confiscated the personal belongings of the two perpetrators to assist the investigation. The detention was carried out to explore the roles of each suspect.

The two suspects were charged under Articles 112 and 114 of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics, with the threat of imprisonment of up to 20 years.
