Truck Driver Found Dead Lying In A Gas Station Toilet In Balikpapan

BALIKPAPAN - A truck driver waiting in line for refueling at a gas station in Balikpapan City, East Kalimantan, was found dead in a gas station toilet, Monday, November 18 night. It is strongly suspected that the victim died as a result of falling while in the toilet.

A gas station in the Jalan Soekarno Hatta Kilometer 13, Karang Joang Village, was suddenly shocked by the discovery of a man's body, which was found dead in a gas station toilet.

Gas station security officer, Leo said, at that time he and a number of other gas station security officers were arranging the queues for vehicles that would refuel at gas stations.

At that time, he received a report from one of the residents that a man was found unconscious in one of the men's toilet bathroom rooms at the gas station.

"When arranging the queue, I was called by the driver who informed me that there were other positions in the bathroom who were unconscious," said Leo.

Leo continued, at that time he went straight to the bathroom, and found the victim sitting on the toilet. At that time the victim was already weak, but still breathing.

Leo and a number of gas station security officers tried to help the victim by laying the victim on the toilet floor. However, while waiting for the ambulance to arrive at the scene, the victim's life could no longer be saved.

"After that I tried to call Pak Babin to ask the ambulance to come here. Before the ambulance arrived, the victim's condition had died, approximately, just before 06.55 WITA," he continued.

The Inafis team from the Balikpapan Police Satreskrim who arrived at the scene immediately conducted a crime scene (TKP). From the results of the crime scene, it is suspected that the victim died as a result of falling in the bathroom, causing the victim's head to hit the wall.

Based on the results of the statements of a number of witnesses at the scene, the victim was identified as Nanang, 50 years old, and worked as a truck driver. At the time of the incident, the victim was waiting in line for refueling at the gas station.

Now, the victim's body has been evacuated and immediately rushed to a local public hospital to undergo further processing. The case of the discovery of the body in the gas station toilet has been handled by the North Balikpapan Police, and is still under investigation.
