JAKARTA - The National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) targets the provision of new land for victims of the eruption of Mount Lewotobi Laki, East Flores, East Nusa Tenggara, which will be relocated in the next week.
"This week we can get it," said Head of the BNPB Disaster Data, Information and Communication Center Abdul Muhari as reported by ANTARA, Monday, November 18.
He explained that currently there are several land options provided by the local government or related ministries to become new settlements for victims of the eruption.
However, there are many aspects that will be assessed by the survey team, including officers from the Geological Agency and the Ministry of Housing and Settlement Areas so that the location is suitable for use for residents.
He mentioned that the aspect of the assessment ranged from the completeness of land status documents to the security aspect of disasters, environmental eligibility to be used as residential areas, and their economic potential.
"The government is careful about making decisions because it not only moves individuals but also their livelihoods," he said.
