Trump Candidates Chris Wright As US Energy Minister

WASHINGTON - US President-elect Donald Trump nominated Chris Wright, founder and CEO of oil field group Liberty Energy, as energy minister.

"I am pleased to announce that Chris Wright will join my administration as Minister of Energy of the United States, and a newly formed Member of the National Energy Council," Trump said in a statement on Sunday.

Trump noted that Wright has experience working with billionaires and North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum, who is nominated for the post of interior minister and will also join the National Energy Council.

"This team will drive the dominance of US energy, which will suppress Inflation, win the AI arms race with China (and other countries), and expand American diplomatic power to end the war around the world," he said.

Trump, who led the US in 2017-2021, was re-elected as US President in the November 5 elections. vIa became the first politician in the US since the 19th century to return to the White House after a four-year hiatus.

Trump's victory was announced by all leading media involved in vote count, including Associated Press, Fox News, CNN, NBC, ABC, and CBS.

Electoral votes from states must ensure votes for candidates are in accordance with voters' wishes on December 17, and the new Congress will approve the vote results on January 6, 2025. The inauguration of the US President and Vice President will take place on January 20 next year.
