JAKARTA - Taiwan stated that there was no evidence that its country became a producer of pagers that exploded simultaneously in Lebanon in September 2024.
Citing Reuters, the Justice Ministry's investigative Bureau said in a statement Monday 11 November that Taiwanese company Gold Apollo had not produced an AR-924 pager model in recent years.
The bureau continues, a company called Frontier Group Entity outside Taiwan is a manufacturer of the AR-924 pager model that exploded simultaneously in Lebanon in September 2024.
In a massive explosion of pagers or guarantees in various parts of Lebanon, the Lebanese Ministry of Health reported as of Tuesday 17 September, as many as nine people were killed and 2,750 others injured.
The dead and injured were members of Hezbollah and civilians, including children. Hezbollah accused Israel of being behind the explosion.
Reuters in its report on September 18 said Israel's intelligence agency or Mossad, according to sources, planted explosives on 5,000 pagers ordered by Hezbollah. About 3,000 pagers exploded on Tuesday 17 September.
