Demak Police, Central Java, secured 6,930 liters of subsidized diesel from disclosing the practice of fuel abuse at the Bongkol Indah Hamlet Fish Auction Site (TPI) in the district.

Demak Police Chief AKBP Ari Cahya Nugraha said the thousands of liters of subsidized fuel were accommodated in jerry cans transported by a truck.

The disclosure stems from a public report about a suspicious truck located in the TPI Dukuh Bongkol Indah area.

"The community report was followed up by checking by officers to the location," he said in a statement in Semarang, Antara, Sunday, November 10.

During the check, the police found a truck carrying jerry cans containing diesel and SY (37) and MA (24). Both have been arrested and named suspects.

According to him, the prosecution is proof of the police's firmness in supervising the distribution of subsidized fuel so that it is right on target. Police Chief Ari Cahya Nugraha also warned various parties not to misuse subsidized fuel.

The police, he continued, will also coordinate with the prosecutor's office to ensure that the case is immediately processed to the next stage.
