JAKARTA - A well-known automotive manufacturer from Germany, Audi announced that it will stop sales of the 30 TFSI 30 variant A1 hatchback in Australia due to its sluggish sales trend.

The 3-cylinder engine in the 30 TFSI variant will be removed from the list of A1 models in 2025 in the territory, leaving the more expensive types, namely the TFSI 35-cylinder 4-machine and 40 TFSI.

"We have removed 30 TFSIs from the 2025 Model range because this is the lowest-selling variant, and most of the A1 contributions are in 35 TFSIs or 40 TFSIs," said Audi Australia Product Planning Manager Peter Strudwicke, quoted from Drive, Thursday, December 26.

In addition, it is reported that Audi's headquarters in Germany will soon inject the A1 model globally in the midst of slowing global sales of city cars. However, the manufacturer does not want to reveal the end of production from this model.

"We can't provide too much information about the A1 life cycle, it hasn't been announced by the factory, but what is certain is that at least one full year the 2025 model will remain available," Strudwicke said.

In Australia, the TFSI 30 variant is the lowest in the Audi A1 lineup. The hatchback is set to have a 1.0 liter 3-cylinder engine from Volkswagen Polo with a power of 85 kW and a top torque of 200 Nm.

Of course, this power is lower than the top variant, such as 35 TFSI, which relies on a 1.5 liter 4-cylinder turbo engine powered by 110 kW and a 250 Nm torque.

Meanwhile, it is reported that the TFSI 40 variant will get a mechanical increase for 2025 with a larger power of 2.0 liters of turbo engine, new transmission, and fuel consumption which is claimed to be lower than before.
