JAKARTA - Health authorities in Canada are investigating the source of transmission and possible contacts following the discovery of bird flu in humans.
The case of the first person in Canada to be confirmed positive for bird flu was found in a teenager in British Columbia (BC) on Saturday, November 9 local time.
"We are conducting a thorough investigation to fully understand the source of the exposure here, at BC," said British Chief of Health Columbia total Henry, quoted by AFP, Sunday, November 10.
Provincial Health Department officials in Canada said the infection may have come from birds or animals. However, conclusions related to this are still awaiting further research results.
