Dianda Hujan Deras, 1.2 Million Japanese Residents Of The Archipelago Asked To Refuge

JAKARTA - More than 1.2 million Japanese citizens on the islands of Kyushu, Shipoku, and Kyoto Prefecture, are urged to evacuate after heavy rains hit the archipelago, according to data shared by the local government, Saturday, November 2.

A total of 404,500 residents in Matsuyama City, Ehime Prefecture, located on Shikoku Island, were asked to move to a safer place, with around 190,000 people receiving the highest hazard level warning.

In addition, 103,900 people are advised to evacuate in the city of Kitakyushu, Fukuoka Prefecture, which is located on Kyushu Island, and 229,300 people in Sasebo City, Fashion Prefecture.

More than 428,000 people received evacuation recommendations in Hiroshima Prefecture, more than 38,000 people in Shimane Prefecture, and 1,400 people in Kyoto Prefecture.

Quoted from ANTARA, Saturday, November 2, correspondent RIA Novosti reported that heavy rains and strong winds hit Osaka City. In late September, Japan was hit by heavy rains that recorded records and killed nine people in Ishikawa Prefecture and affected at least 367 people.

Heavy rains affected cities and areas that were previously hit by strong earthquakes on January 1.

Evacuation orders were also issued for 131,400 people in Wajima, Suzu, and Kota Noto as well as four other locations in Ishikawa Prefecture.
