JAKARTA - The Ministry of Tourism (Kemenpar) utilizes the Familination Trip (Famtrip) program to introduce leading destinations such as Surabaya, Mount Bromo in East Java, and Borobudur in Yogyakarta to tourists from Taiwan.
"This activity aims to provide direct experience to participants in Surabaya, Mount Bromo, and Borobudur tourist destinations. That way, they can feel the uniqueness of their destinations directly and convey more complete information about the concept of green and sustainable tourism in Indonesia," said Deputy Marketing of the Ministry of Tourism Ni Made Ayu Marthini in a press statement received in Jakarta, Monday.
According to Made, this event was held in collaboration from the Taipei Indonesian Trade and Economy Office (KDEI), Royal Brunei Airlines, and the Millennium Tours on 19-24 December 2024. The goal is to increase Taiwanese tourists' awareness of the Taiwanese campaign as well as strengthen the concept of sustainable tourism.
Currently, the government is focusing on developing quality tourism that is oriented towards sustainability to support the target of visiting 14.3 million foreign tourists by 2024.
Apart from Borobudur, famtrip participants were also invited to visit a number of other destinations such as the Yogyakarta Palace, Taman Sari, and the Pinus Pengger Forest natural tourism area. This activity also involves the experience of enjoying a typical historical culinary with historical value in Sekar Kedaton, wearing traditional Javanese clothes, watching the sunset, and trying to ride around Mount Bromo.
This event is expected to encourage travel agents and tour operators (TA/TO) to design Indonesian tour packages, especially Borobudur-Yogyakarta. In addition, the influencers (Key Opinion Leader or KOL) and participating media are expected to be able to produce interesting coverage that will expand the promotion of destinations.
