Allegedly Corruption In The Procurement Of Reclame Boards, Jember Regional Secretary Arrested By East Java Police

JAKARTA - Investigators from the Directorate of Special Criminal Investigation (Ditkrimsus) of the East Java Police have detained the Regional Secretary (Sekda) of Jember HS in a case of alleged corruption in the procurement of billboards, after previously being named a suspect.

The Director of Special Criminal Investigation (Direskrimsus) of the East Java Police, Kombes Pol Budi Hermanto in Surabaya, Saturday when confirmed confirmed the detention of a Jember Regency Government official. "Yes, that's right," said Budi.

Meanwhile, the Head of Public Relations of the East Java Regional Police, Kombes Pol. Dirmanto, said that the suspect HS as the Acting Head of the 2023 Bapenda and currently the Regional Secretary of Jember Regency was suspected without being based on authority in the implementation of fixed billboard spending (billboard). However, HS did permanent billboard shopping (billboard).

"The permanent billboard (billboard) should have been carried out by the Reclame Bureau in accordance with Article 9 of Perbup 42 of 2011," he said, quoted by Antara.

The suspect HS in the implementation of the permanent billboard expenditure (billboard) is carried out by breaking the package which should be carried out using the tender method.

"There was a state loss of Rp. 1,715,460,002, as the result of the calculation of state losses by the East Java Provincial BPKP," he said.

Furthermore, after going through a series of investigations, examination of witnesses and case titles, HS was detained on Saturday, November 2, 2024 and named a suspect.

HS is subject to Article 2 paragraph 1, Article 3 of Law Number 31 of 1999 as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001 in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph 1 to 1 of the Criminal Code, concerning Corruption Crimes.

"The threat of life imprisonment or imprisonment is a minimum of four years and a maximum of 20 years and a fine of at least Rp. 200 million and a maximum of Rp. 1 billion," said Dirmanto.
