Visiting Husband in Jail, Wife Brings Drugs Hidden in Underwear

JAKARTA - A woman with the initials FMS was arrested by officers of the State Prison (Rutan) Class I Central Jakarta for being caught smuggling methamphetamine.

The perpetrator came to the Jakarta Central Class I Detention Center to carry out a face-to-face visit service to her husband, a detainee with the initials GH.

The visitor came with a 4-year-old child and then underwent the examination procedure according to the standard operating procedures in the Main Entrance (P2U) area.

When entering the body checking area, the visitor was checked by female searchers.

Thanks to the accuracy and vigilance of the officers in carrying out the examination, two clear plastic clips were found suspected of containing 9.85 grams of methamphetamine, which were hidden in the left underwear belonging to the visitor.

Based on these findings, officers immediately coordinated with the Head of the Rutan Security Unit and secured visitors and evidence of suspected narcotics for further handling in accordance with applicable procedures and coordinated with law enforcement officers for further investigation and development.

"This successful disclosure is a tangible proof of the commitment of the Jakarta Central Class I Prison in creating a clean correctional environment from the circulation of drugs and supporting the implementation of the Zero HALINAR (Handphone, Illegal Collection, and Drugs) program in the correctional environment," said Acting Head of the Prison, Gusti Akhmad Ridho when confirmed, Thursday, July 23, 2026.

Meanwhile, Head of the Security Unit, Desman Agung Prasetya, added that this was a real form of work in eradicating the circulation of drugs in the Jakarta Central Class I Prison.

In the future, the Jakarta Central Class I Detention Center will continue to increase vigilance and tighten supervision on every service, especially the visitation service, to prevent any form of smuggling of prohibited goods into the detention center.
