Defense Minister Nasirzadeh Says Iran Is Able To Carry Out Dozens Of Operations Such As True Promise

JAKARTA - Defense Minister Brigadier General Aziz Nasirzadeh said Iran was capable of carrying out dozens of countermeasures such as Operation True Promise, which targeted Israeli-occupied Palestinian territory in April.

"Iran's defense capability is high," he was quoted as saying by Ebrahim Rezaei, spokesman for the Parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, at a meeting last Tuesday, quoted from Mehr, October 31.

During the operation, Iran fired more than 300 missiles and drones into occupied territory, in retaliation for the deadly aggression of the Israeli regime that had targeted Iranian diplomatic facilities in the Syrian capital, Damascus, early that month.

Meanwhile, in early October, Iran launched 200 missiles into Israeli military and intelligence bases across the occupied territory as part of Operation True Promise II.

The second operation was carried out in response to the more deadly atrocities by the Zionist regime against Iran and other regional countries, including Israel's assassination of Hamas Chief Ismail Haniyeh, Hezbollah Leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah and senior commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard (IRGC) Abbas Nilforoushan.

According to Rezaei, Defense Minister Nasirzadeh said up to 90 percent of the missiles fired during True Promise II hit its target. However, the Zionist regime tries to censor existing facts related to the operation.

In addition, Iran's Defense Minister also discussed the issue of Israeli attacks on defense targets in several Iranian provinces, namely Tehran, Khuzestan, and Islam last week.

The attack failed to cause serious damage to the country's missile production cycle and defense system, he said, but added any damage caused by the attack had been repaired.

Israel has tried to slow down the offensive and defensive power of the Islamic Republic through these attacks, but failed to realize one of its goals, Nasirzadeh was quoted as saying.
