JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto asked the ranks of ministries and state agencies to ensure that all subsidy programs as government assistance can be right on target and right on allocation for the beneficiary people.

Head of the Presidential Communication Office, Hasan Nasbi, conveyed this after President Prabowo held a limited meeting with ministers of the Red and White Cabinet and heads of institutions, as well as state bodies at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta, Wednesday, October 30.

"The President's directive must be studied, sharpened regarding subsidies so that they are more targeted, right at the recipient and right at the allocation," Hasan Nasbi said as quoted by ANTARA.

Hasan explained that President Prabowo requested that the data on subsidized recipients be sharpened, so that government assistance was more targeted.

Prabowo also assigned the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) to synchronize data on people receiving cross-ministerial assistance.

"The data synchronization has been appointed earlier, later BPS will prepare the data," Hasan said.

According to him, the President ordered ministers and heads of institutions to review the amount of subsidies and synchronize data within two weeks.

Prabowo's order regarding subsidies that must be right on target is his commitment as President, as stated in his inaugural speech when he was inaugurated as the 8th President of the Republic of Indonesia at the MPR/DPR/DPD Building in Senayan on October 20.

"Yes, now we are sharpening the data so that people who receive it are right. So, there is no longer a wrong target subsidy," Hasan said.

In the previous administration, data on people receiving social assistance were listed in the Integrated Social Welfare Data (DTKS) issued by the Ministry of Social Affairs.
