Truck Driver In Semper Jakut Pretends To Be A Mineral Water Seller

The North Jakarta Metro Police Sector Police (Polsek) arrested three men suspected of bullying truck drivers on Jalan Simpang Lima Semper, Koja District, North Jakarta City by selling mineral water.

"The three perpetrators were arrested while in action on the road and they are very disturbing to the trailer truck driver there," said Head of Criminal Investigation at the Koja Police, AKP Alex Chandra, Antara, Tuesday, October 29, 2024.

He said the three perpetrators had the initials MAF (26), AW (32) and RRW (25) who carried out their actions by selling bottled water to truck drivers.

According to him, the modus operandi they use by offering drinks and then approaching the driver, they force the driver to buy the drinks they sell.

If the driver refuses they looted the driver's belongings on the dashboard of the car.

"You can steal money, e-money, money and other valuables," he said.

He said the arrest was after there were reports from the driver and the public and the officers carried out an investigation to come to the location to conduct observations and it turned out that they had found the perpetrator's actions.

"We found that the three were carrying out acts of extortion against the driver," he said.

He said that currently the three perpetrators were taken to the North Jakarta Koja Police to carry out an investigation.

Officers brought a number of evidences, namely money worth Rp. 30,000 and two wallets containing the identity of the perpetrator.

"We are still investigating this case which makes the community uneasy," he said.

He said officers continued to try to make the situation safe and comfortable without any disturbances in the form of thuggery, criminal acts and others.

"We urge the public not to hesitate to report to the officers if they find criminal acts and others," he said.
