Reprimanded By Commission V Of The DPR, Mendes Baru Will Strictly Monitor Village Funds And Do Maping

JAKARTA - Minister of Villages and Development of Disadvantaged Regions (PDT) Yandri Susanto was reprimanded by Commission V of the DPR regarding the supervision of village funds during the inaugural meeting in the DPR.

Yandri emphasized that his party will closely monitor the distribution of village funds and expand regarding villages that have the potential to increase the economy.

Yandri initially said that his presence to the DPR was to introduce himself as a minister in the Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka government.

He asked the DPR for advice on how to maximize the available budget for the development of villages in all regions in Indonesia.

"We came to Commission V for the first working meeting as the Red and White cabinet, I was given the mandate of Mr. Prabowo as the Minister of Villages and Development of Disadvantaged Regions, today the agenda is an introduction. Besides us conveying important issues. In addition, the Minister of Villages, the village fund is very large, Rp71 trillion, but there is Rp14 trillion for food self-sufficiency. We ask for input, suggestions to members of the DPR so that a large number can be useful for the small people, it doesn't just run out," said Yandri after a working meeting in front of Commission V meeting room. "In the future, we will carry out strict supervision, accompanying villages that can be improved economically, so the cooperation between Commission V and the Ministry of Villages and PDT is very important," he continued.

Yandri revealed that Commission V of the DPR has scheduled a meeting with the Ministry of Health PDT to discuss the budget, including the remaining budget in the 2024 State Budget next week.

"Later on the 7th (November) we will be invited by a working meeting to discuss the current budget, the remaining budget, then the 2025 budget will be included," said Yandri.

Previously, the Chairman of Commission V of the DPR, Lasarus reminded the Minister of Villages and Development of Disadvantaged Regions (PDT), Yandri Susanto, to carefully supervise village funds because they do not have a central extension in the regions.

According to Lasarus, village heads who receive Rp2 billion per village are more afraid of the inspectorate than the minister.

"Has all villages that received village funds been surveyed, there has been an increase in development or not? Then is the use of these funds optimal or not? I want to tell you, the worst thing is the affairs of the Minister of Villages, it is the supervision of the use of village funds, because you do not have organs in the regions. Supervision of village funds is handed over to districts, finally the village head is more afraid of the inspectorate than the Minister of Villages who holds a budget of IDR 71 trillion," said Lasarus.

The PDIP legislator advised Mendes and Wemendes, Riza Patria, to formulate a matter of monitoring da adesa so that there is no misappropriation in every use. Because according to Lasarus, many officials were exposed to arrest operations (OTT) regarding this village fund.

"In my opinion, Mr. Yandri, my message is that we support how you and Mr. Riza Patria will formulate the supervision of village funds, there are many village heads going to prison because of their lack of attention to the use of state finances," said Lasarus.
