The police arrested one of the perpetrators of the robbery mode broken glass and flat tires in Tulungagung, East Java (East Java).

Tulungagung Police Chief, AKBP Taat Resdi confirmed the arrest of the main suspect with the initials KSY (37) who was identified as the mastermind of a series of robberies with the mode of breaking glass and flat tires.

'The perpetrator stabbed the victim's vehicle tire and followed it until the victim stopped. When the victim repaired the tires, the perpetrator took the valuables left behind. In some cases, the perpetrator also broke the car window to steal the goods in it," Rio explained.

Two cases of theft that were revealed involved victim Arif Saputra (32) from Blitar, who lost Rp71 million in cash, and Hendrik Eko Julianto (32) from Ponorogo, who lost a bag containing a laptop and clothes.

The Arif case occurred in Junjung Village, Sumbergempol District, on September 9, 2024, while the Hendrik case occurred in Rejotangan Village on September 7, 2024.

After the arrest of KSY, the police confiscated a number of evidences, including motorbikes, tools to stab tires and break the glass, as well as the remaining money from the crime.

"We are still hunting for several other suspects who are on the People's Wanted List (DPO)," Rio added.

For his actions, KSY was charged with Article 363 of the Criminal Code with a maximum imprisonment of nine years. The Tulungagung Police appealed to the public to be more vigilant against this theft mode.
