The Case Of 12 Santri Victims Of Obscenity Of Islamic Boarding School Leaders In Jambi Is Still Being Investigated By The Police

Jambi Police are still investigating cases of sexual abuse against students carried out by the leadership of one of the Islamic boarding schools (ponpes) in Jambi City.

Wadirreskrimum Jambi Police AKBP Imam Rachman said, in this case there were 12 victims, including 11 men and 1 woman.

"The perpetrator carried out the action at his residence at the Islamic boarding school," he said in Jambi, Antara, Tuesday, October 29.

The perpetrator's mode was to ask the victims to come to their room, then the victim was ordered to do something and after that the perpetrator launched the action.

The victims did not fight because the perpetrators were the leaders of the Islamic boarding school.

Head of Sub-Directorate IV Renata Ditreskrimum Jambi Police AKBP Kristian Adi Wibawa added, of the 12 victims, seven victims had been investigated while the remaining five were still in process.

"The report underlies the woman, the development turns out to be male victims as well," he said.

The police are still investigating this case to determine whether there are still other students who are victims of the boarding school leadership.

As a result of his actions, the perpetrators were subject to Article 81 Jo 76 letter d D and/or Article 82 Jo 76 letter E of Law Number 35 of 2024 concerning child protection with a threat of 15 years in prison.
