Rano Karno Meets Geisz Chalifah Twice, Signal Supported By Anies?

JAKARTA - Candidate for Deputy Governor of Jakarta number 3 Rano Karno again met loyalist Anies Baswedan, Geisz Chalifah ahead of the second debate for the Jakarta gubernatorial election, Sunday, October 27.

Previously, Rano also visited Geisz's residence in Tanah Tinggi, Central Jakarta, on October 7. Today, Rano and Geisz met in the Ancol beach area, North Jakarta.

Then, is this meeting a sign that Pramono Anung and Rano Karno are a signal of Anies' support for the candidate pairs promoted by PDIP and Hanura?

Geisz did not answer clearly. However, Geisz admitted that his meeting with Rano had been known by Anies.

"I can't do something without communication with Mr. Anies. It's impossible," said Geisz in Ancol, North Jakarta, Sunday, October 27.

Today, Geisz, who in fact was a former Commissioner of PT Pembangunan Jaya Ancol, invited Rano to check the construction project for the floating mosque and the Rasulullah museum which was initiated by the Anies Baswedan era as Governor of DKI Jakarta.

Anies inaugurated the groundbreaking of the floating mosque in November 2019 and the jibullah museum in February 2020. When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, the construction of these two buildings had stalled.

Currently, the progress of the construction of the floating mosque has only been laid off the foundation on the Ancol beach. Meanwhile, in the project area of the Rasulullah museum, no construction has been carried out on the land resulting from the reclamation.

Therefore, to Rano, Geisz asked that the floating mosque and the Rasulullah museum be supported to accelerate the completion of its construction.

"Bang Dul stated that he would continue Pak Anies' program. I entrust my hope. Today is one of our first steps for Pak Anies' programs which was continued yesterday," said Geisz.

Responding to this, Rano promised to support the construction of the floating mosque and the Rasulullah museum if he won the Jakarta gubernatorial election. This is his commitment with Pramono to continue various previous Jakarta Governor's programs.

"I really understand that Bang Anies still has an extraordinary vision for Jakarta. That's why yesterday I talked to Bang Geis, Bang Insya Allah, if we continue this, we will definitely continue. This means that this is one proof that we are serious about continuing all the Bang Anies programs, which are very appropriate to continue," explained Rano.

Moreover, according to him, this floating mosque and the Rasulullah museum will become new tourist destinations in Jakarta that attract people's attention. "Apart from here recreational areas, they can also worship, it's interesting as a public place, yes," he added.
