ASN In Cianjur Becomes A Suspect In The Pilkada Case, Invites To Choose Candidate Number 1

CIANJUR - Polres Cianjur, West Java, has named a suspect status for a State Civil Apparatus in Pasirkuda District who is suspected of committing an election crime by campaigning for one of the candidate pairs participating in the 2024 Pilkada.

Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Cianjur Police, AKP Tono Listianto, stated that the suspect was named DR after Gakkumdu Cianjur, conducted an investigation and transferred his case to the Cianjur Police.

Previously, a video circulated of the suspect on social media containing an invitation to choose a candidate pair for election participants.

"The suspect is proven to have invited or campaigned for one of the candidate pairs in a recitation activity held in Pasirkuda District, even the suspect taught how to choose," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, October 25.

After investigating and developing the case, the ASN with the position of Head of the Trantib in Pasirkuda Subdistrict was applied as a suspect with evidence of video recordings, cellular phones and a number of other evidence.

Furthermore, the case files of the suspect DR have been transferred to the Cianjur District Attorney's Office, stage one, the suspect charged under Article 188 in conjunction with Article 71 of Law Number 1 of 2015 concerning Stipulation of Government Regulations in Lieu of Law Number 1 of 2014 concerning the Election of Governors, Regents, and Mayors.

"The suspect is threatened with 6 months in prison, we have submitted the file to the Cianjur Kejari so that it can be tried immediately," he said.

Meanwhile, the video related to the violation committed by ASN in Pasirhayam District, was viral when the recitation was held which was attended by mothers. In the video, DR asks all those present to choose the number 1 pair in the Cianjur Pilkada.

He even gave an example of how to vote for a candidate pair to choose from the recitation participants and the action was recorded by participants who were present until it finally spread widely on social media.
