10 Israeli Soldiers Killed In Lebanon In 2 Days

JAKARTA - Ten Israeli soldiers were killed in southern Lebanon in two days, according to Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) data.

Five soldiers died in southern Lebanon on Thursday and five others died on Friday, October 25.

Israel launched a ground operation to southern Lebanon on October 1, saying it was struggling to eliminate the Iran-backed Hezbollah group.

A total of 890 Israeli soldiers and other security personnel have been killed since October 7, 2023, according to the Israeli defense ministry. It is unclear whether the five soldiers announced dead on Friday were included in this figure.

In Lebanon, more than 2,500 people were killed and more than 12,000 injured, according to the Lebanese Ministry of Health. The Ministry of Health and doctors contacted by CNN said hundreds of victims were civilians, including women, children, the elderly, as well as a number of medics.

About 1.2 million Lebanese were forced to flee during the war, and about 63,500 Israelis took refuge in northern Israel on the other side of the border.
