KPK Has Not Been Asked To Monitor Prabowo-Gibran's Free Lunch Program

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has not been asked to specifically monitor the implementation of free lunch. This program is Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka's campaign promise.

"There has been no request for special monitoring yet," said KPK spokesman Tessa Mahardika to reporters, Wednesday, October 23.

Even so, Tessa believes that the implementation of this program will still be monitored by the competent authorities conducting audits such as the Financial Supervisory Agency (BPK) and the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP). Thus, there are parties who continue to monitor the use of state money.

"And if there are irregularities that indicate that there is an unlawful act, of course those who know can convey it to the KPK or to two other law enforcement officers," he said.

"So in principle, whether the KPK is asked or not to continue working, yes, in carrying out the process of prosecution and prevention," continued the spokesman with the investigator's background.

For information, this free lunch program is one of the priorities of the Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka government. The budget issued reached IDR 71 trillion.

The giving will target pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, toddlers, and students at all levels of education, including preschool, basic education, secondary education, both general, vocational, and religious education.

After Prabowo and Gibran were sworn in, this program was tested in a number of schools. Gibran even monitored its implementation with the Acting Governor of Jakarta Teguh Setyabudi at SD Negeri 03 Menteng, Central Jakarta on Tuesday, October 22.

Free nutritious lunch at that time was provided from Bank DKI with white rice filling, chicken eggs, teriyaki chicken, capcay as well as oranges. The nutritional content per box is 616.33 Kkal at a price of Rp. 23 thousand.
