Budiman Sudjatmiko Targets Poor People To Become Free Nutrition Food Suppliers

Head of the Poverty Reduction Acceleration Agency Budiman Sudjatmiko said targeting the poor to be more empowered by making them a supplier for the Free Nutrition Food Program (MBG).

According to him, this can be done and one way is by preparing coordination with the industry, especially those related to capital to make it easier for the poor to get capital to do business.

"The poor are suppliers, but of course we provide access, assets, so that KUR (People's Business Credit) is facilitated. I will talk to banks, I will also provide Madani National Capital (PNM) to provide KUR," Budiman said as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, October 22.

He mentioned that in alleviating poverty, various government programs can be utilized, one of which is through the MBG Program.

Later, the poor who are recipients of the MBG Program are targeted by Budiman to be involved in the supply chain for the provision of foodstuffs for initiatives that enter the ranks of the "Eights of the Fastest Result Program".

Although he does not yet have definite data regarding the number of poor people in Indonesia, Budiman has set a fairly large target in empowering the poor in the MBG Program.

"At least 50 percent of the poor are suppliers," he said.

Previously, after being inaugurated by President Prabowo Subianto, Head of the Agency for the Acceleration of Poverty Reduction Budiman Sudjatmiko stated that his commitment to empowering people who fall into the poor category is one way to accelerate poverty alleviation in Indonesia.

"So poverty alleviation is not just to cure symptoms or symptoms, not to cope, but to alleviate them. Not only giving cash, but there must be empowerment, inclusive development starting from the industrial sector, as well as investment policies," Budiman said in the Presidential Palace area, Jakarta, Tuesday.

Budiman said that the empowerment of the poor will not only focus on providing direct economic assistance, but also increase the capacity of the community as a human resource so that later they can manage products that have the potential to improve the quality of life of the community.

He gave an example that empowerment can be done, one of which is through competency training to manage cooperatives or encourage technology training in the form of upskilling and reskilling.
