Minister Yandri Susanto Admits Haul's Invitation To Cooperate With The Ministry Of Villages, Promises Not To Repeat It Again

JAKARTA - Minister of Villages and Development of Disadvantaged Regions (Mendes PDT) Yandri Susanto opened his voice regarding the viral law with a letter from the Ministry of Villages whose activities were held at the BAIMahdi Sholeh Ma'mun Islamic Boarding School in Serang Regency, Banten.

"During the process, there was no political element, nor do we want this event to be ridden by political elements. Including today we are donating food, it is on behalf of our mother," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, October 22.

Yandri thanked the former Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Mahfud MD for reprimanding him through his X (Twitter) account.

"Thank you to Mr. Mahfud for drinking it and we will not repeat it again. But today is purely for the activities of Santri Day and our mother's birthday, there are no other elements," he said.

"Thank you to Mr. Mahfud, God willing, it will not be repeated again, this is purely our mother's experience," Yandri promised.

Yandri admitted that this could be corrected and that the activity was not misused.

"Actually, we are not only inviting this event to the village head, as well as the Acting Governor represented by the regional secretary and other regional heads, rectors, scholars, and community leaders," he said.

At the haul event, Yandi's wife, Ratu Zakiyah, accompanied her. Ratu Zakiyah is currently running as a candidate for the Regent of Serang in the 2024 Pilkada. Yandi emphasized that there was no direction to choose Queen Zakiyah.

"Even though we donated food on behalf of our mother and our gratitude as her son, this is how we serve our parents," he said.

Previously, letters were circulated by the Ministry of Villages and Disadvantaged Regions Number: 19/UMM.02.03/X/2024. In the letter signed by Yandri Susanto, it also invited village heads, RT heads, to posyandu cadres in the Kramatwatu, Serang, Banten, to attend the commemoration of the 2nd anniversary of their mothers, Santri Day, and also tasyakuran.

The letter was signed on October 21, 2024 or coincided with the day he was sworn in as minister by President Prabowo Subianto, while the haul event itself was held on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at the BAI Islamic Boarding School Mahdi Sholeh Ma'mun.
