A Gang Of Motorcycle And Dealers Arrested By Officials In Mangga Besar, West Jakarta

The Tamansari Metro Police Criminal Investigation Unit managed to apprehend a gang of motor vehicle thieves (curanmor) who often disturbed the residents of Tamansari.

The theft took place on Jalan Mangga Besar VII, RT 04/03, Tank Village, Tamansari District, West Jakarta. A total of two perpetrators were arrested by the Tamansari Metro Police Criminal Investigation Unit.

"Two perpetrators were arrested. Both have the initials RR (29) acting as the main actors or motorcycle pickers and AA (27) who act as collectors of stolen motorbikes," said Metro Tamansari Police Chief, Kompol Adhi Wananda when confirmed, Friday, October 18.

In the action, the suspect with the initials RR carried out the theft with his colleague named Arab (DPO).

RR and Arab were caught stealing a Honda Beat motorbike in the Jalan Mangga Besar VII area, Tank Village. After successfully stealing a motorbike, the two suspects sold the stolen motorbike to AA, a collector.

"The stolen motorbike was sold by RR to AA for IDR 1.5 million," he said.

Furthermore, the suspect with the initials AA then resells it to another person for IDR 2.5 million.

"In addition to arresting the two perpetrators, we also secured a number of evidences in the form of one Y key, four Y key children, two ignition keys, and three lock keys," he said.

The two perpetrators were charged with Article 363 of the Criminal Code (KUHP) regarding theft by weight and Article 480 concerning collectors of stolen goods.
