The Fire In Duri Kosambi Started With The Powerbank Explosion

JAKARTA A charger or power bank exploded. The explosion emitted sparks and spread to the refrigerator warehouse and used stalls on Jalan Raya Duri Kosambi, Cengkareng District, West Jakarta on Thursday, October 17.

The flames continued to grow and burn a number of materials in the two stalls and warehouses. The fire quickly grew because it was hit by the wind.

The West Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept. who received reports of the fire immediately deployed 15 fire engines and 75 personnel. The fire was finally extinguished in more than 2 hours.

Based on witness testimony from workers in the warehouse, the fire first appeared allegedly due to a power bank explosion that was being filled. Then spread to flammable materials.

"There were no casualties or injuries in this incident," he said.

Head of West Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept., Syarifudin, confirmed that the object of the fire in Duri Kosambi, Cengkareng, West Jakarta was a warehouse for used refrigerators or freezers. The fire scorched an area of 450 square meters.

"The cause is suspected to have been from the explosion when it was charged. There were no casualties or injuries," he said.

Currently, the fire case is being handled by the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Cengkareng Police.
