According to Firman, the establishment of the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah will make the position of officials who take care of Hajj and Umrah in Indonesia equal to Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia itself has had the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah since 1956.
"If we have the Minister of Hajj and Umrah, then the position is equal to the Minister of Hajj and Umrah of Saudi Arabia. Diplomacy, negotiations, and inter-state lobbying will be easier," explained Firman.
Firman Muhammad Nur also added that the formation of the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah could provide great benefits from an economic perspective for Indonesia. "We want the Hajj and Umrah sector to really provide economic benefits for us, which are currently still very impressed that all its benefits are only for Saudi Arabia," he said.
