Democratic Party Has No Problem PDIP Joining The Prabowo Coalition

Chairman of the Democratic Party Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) ensured that the Democrats would not mind if President-elect Prabowo Subianto collaborated with PDIP to enter the Prabowo-Gibran government in the next five years.

According to AHY, the Democrat party fully handed over the PDIP cooperation decision or not to Prabowo.

"The one who knows the best in the future is what and of course what he wants to do to realize Indonesia's vision of progress as campaigned by Mr. Prabowo. Of course, we want to provide full support because we leave everything to the elected president," said AHY at the DPR Building, parliament complex., Senayan, Jakarta, Thursday 10 October.

The Democratic Party, said AHY, is more focused on the roles given by Prabowo-Gibran for the coming year. His party is committed to overseeing the running of the Prabowo-Gibran program in the future.

"If I myself have no other feelings, because we only focus on efforts to carry out any role, the role that will be given to us by the Democratic Party to be able to guard the government for the next five years and of course in politics this is all dynamic," said AHY.

AHY emphasized that the Democrat Party's focus would not be disturbed by the PDIP discourse to join the Prabowo-Gibran government or not. The reason is, the Democratic Party has fought with Prabowo and is ready to fill the government together as well.

"Once again I don't see this as something that makes us not focused because from the start our commitment the Democratic Party wanted to fight together. Alhamdulillah, they won together and after that they filled in as well as played a good role together," concluded AHY.

Previously, PDIP General Treasurer Olly Dondokambey ensured that PDIP would support the government of Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka in the next five years.

Olly admitted that Megawati Soekarnoputri had stated this because for Megawati, Indonesia did not know the opposition system and coalition.

"In principle, the cooperation has been running and Mrs. (Megawati) also said that we do not know the opposition. So we work together, we help Pak Prabowo in running the government in the future," said Olly.

Olly said that PDIP's support for the Prabowo-Gibran government was inevitable because at this time, PDIP DPP chairman Puan Maharani had become the chairman of the DPR. According to Olly, the Prabowo-Gibran government inevitably has to work with Puan Maharani as the chairman of the DPR.

"What is clear is that the cooperation has been running. Because of what, Mbak Puan has become chairman of the DPR. All government programs are Mbak Puan who is knocked. This means that it's already running, it's just a matter of what happens, we'll just wait for the results of the meeting with Pak Prabowo," said Olly.

It's just that, said Olly, he did not know for sure about the PDIP getting a cabinet seat. According to Olly, the cabinet seat for PDIP depends on Megawati and Prabowo's discussion, which plans to meet before the inauguration of the elected president and vice president, Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka.

"If it's a cabinet matter, it's not my business. That's Pak Prabowo's business, did he ask you to propose and he agreed, Mr. Prabowo's business, the president's prerogative," he said.
