JAKARTA - The Governor of Central Java, Ganjar Pranowo asks all schools implementing face-to-face learning trials (PTM) to provide reports every day to ensure that standard procedures are developed well.

"Starting tomorrow, those who have implemented it (PTM trial) I ask to be obliged to provide daily reports so that we will monitor and evaluate continuously", he said in Semarang, Sunday, April 4.

According to Ganjar, the PTM trial preparation had been done carefully and he had also ordered the head of the education and culture office and branch offices to check it out.

"Tomorrow we will check, I ask all the facilities and infrastructure (sarpras) to be fulfilled, the second is about the SOP, I ask to make sure it runs. Not only students but also teachers, all must be disciplined in health protocol", he said.

For the first stage, continued Ganjar, PTM trials were held in 140 schools, but if all went well, gradually additional schools would be carried out.

"Whether the class or school will be added, later it will be gradual. The target is until July as expected by the Minister of Education and Culture, it can already run. That (addition) also depends on many conditions, including the number of vaccines", he said.

The PDIP Party politician actually hopes that on the first day of the PTM trial, all schools will start with recitation and character learning for students.

"So, at the beginning of the opening, there was a kind of introduction, lecture at the beginning, recitation at the beginning so that the children understood that you are not only learning mathematics, exact science, knowledge, and others, but you have to learn characters that must be prepared from now on", he said.

The Central Java Provincial Government plans to conduct face-to-face learning trials in 140 schools on April 5-16, 2021 by implementing strict health protocols even though it is still in a state of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Face-to-face learning trials will be carried out at the levels of 35 junior high schools, 35 high schools, 35 vocational schools, and 35 islamic schools in Central Java, while for elementary schools, and kindergarten levels are postponed based on input from a number of experts.
