KPK Highlights Arrears In MXGP Samota 2022 Events Worth IDR 407 Million

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) pays attention to tax arrears in the implementation of the 2022 Samota Motocross Grand Prix (MXGP) event in Sumbawa Regency, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) with a value of Rp407 million.

Chairman of the Supervision Coordinator Task Force Region V KPK Dian Patria asked the local government to immediately collect the event implementer, namely PT Samota Enduro Gemilang (SEG) to pay off the tax.

"Instead of not running things, we recommend that the local government only write (tax collection) SEG," said Dian in Mataram, NTB, Wednesday, October 9, which was confiscated by Antara.

In carrying out the international class motorcycle racing event, Dian admitted that the KPK already knew the parties involved, including the shareholders of PT SEG as the organizer of the event.

"I know who owns the shares, but we work straight away. Because the company has not completed the tax, this must be resolved," he said.

MXGP Samota in 2022 is the first implementation of an international class motorcycle racing event in Sumbawa Regency.

In the second year of implementation, namely 2023, the Sumbawa Regency Government saw the impact of the implementation of the event providing many positive things for economic progress and tourism so that it decided to buy the land.

The Sumbawa Regency Government bought land that was the location for the Samota MXGP with an area of 70 hectares worth Rp52 billion.

There are criminal allegations in the purchase process related to gratification. The matter is currently in the process of being investigated by the NTB High Prosecutor's Office.

From a series of investigations, a number of parties have been questioned, ranging from regional officials to land owners.
