JAKARTA - Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu submitted a proposal to change the name of the war launched after the Hamas attack on October 7, 2023 to the Survival War.
The conflict is currently named the 'Besar Kick.'
"This is a 'war of revival' to ensure that October 7 will never happen again," Netanyahu said on Monday, October 7, during a government meeting commemorating a one-year Hamas attack.
"This is a war for our existence," Netanyahu said.
He insists the war will not end until all of its goals are achieved, including destroying Hamas, saving hostages.
"Efforting future threats from Gaza and repatriating evacuated residents from the north returned to their homes," he added.
Hamas attacks a year ago were the worst atrocities against Jewish society since the Holocaust.
Netanyahu said it wasn't like during the Holocaust we bounced back against our enemies to fight fiercely.
