Update On COVID-19 As Of April 3: Positive, Increasing 4,345 Cases, Healing 5,197 People

JAKARTA - The Task Force for Handling COVID-19 today, Saturday 3 April at 12.00 WIB reported the addition of 4,345 positive cases of the coronavirus to 1,527,524 people.

The highest increase still occurs in DKI Jakarta with 1,098 confirmed cases. Followed by Banten 910 people, and West Java 360 people.

Then, the number of recovered patients increased by 5,197 people to 1,366,214 people. The highest rate of recovery was in Banten with 1,553 people, DKI Jakarta with 1,283 people, and West Java with 389 people.

Meanwhile, 91 people died per day to a total of 41,242 people. The highest number of deaths occurred in East Java with 18 people, Banten with 15 people, and East Kalimantan with 10 people.

Besides, the number of people who have received the first phase of the COVID-19 vaccine is 8,533,422 people, an increase of 114,833 people from the previous record. Then, the second phase of vaccination was completed by 3,951,869 people, an increase of 84,303 people from the previous one.

Most recently, the Indonesian government has just received confirmation of a fresh injection of funds from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) related to a loan of 450 million US dollars or the equivalent of IDR 6.5 trillion (exchange rate of IDR 14,568) to obtain and distribute the COVID-19 vaccine.

The funds were originally intended to be used for the procurement of at least 65 million additional doses of vaccine for the people of Indonesia.

ADB President Masatsugu Asakawa said that the capital received by Indonesia was part of the funds disbursed by the Asia Pacific Vaccine Access Facility (APVAX) for a number of developing member countries of ADB to tackle the pandemic with a total value of up to 9 billion US dollars.

"The COVID-19 pandemic has had a very heavy impact on the people of Indonesia. This program will help the government protect lives and restore livelihoods", he said in an official statement, Wednesday, March 31.
