Regarding Land For The 3 Million Houses Program, Erick Thohir: Can Take Advantage Of BUMN Assets

JAKARTA - Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir said that his party had started mapping land owned by state-owned companies that could be used to realize the 3 million housing development program launched by President Prabowo Subianto.

Erick admitted that he had discussed with the Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP) Maruarar Sirait regarding the provision of land for the program.

"We mapped first where the SOE land could support the acceleration of housing," he said at a press conference at the Ministry of SOEs, Jakarta, Friday, November 15.

Not only seeking land from state-owned assets, Erick said the Ministry of PKP is also mapping land that can be used for the program of the 3 million houses. For example, confiscated land from corruption cases.

"He (Minister of PKP) encourages land from the proceeds of corruption, or confiscated lands, or lands that have not been built. Well, the same, we offer to Pak Ara, several state-owned assets themselves, indeed later in collaboration with Perumnas, of course, we can maximize this too," he said.

Erick said that his party not only coordinated with the Ministry of PKP, but also involved the Ministry of Public Works (PU) to provide housing with the concept of transit-oriented areas or transit-oriented development (TOD).

According to Erick, the construction of housing with the TOD concept can take advantage of the land near the train station owned by PT KAI (Persero). Currently, 9 TODs have been built by SOEs in the train station area.

"We have made a breakthrough together with the Ministry of Public Works actually, initially regarding the train stations, the land was not optimal in the past, right now it has been built into TOD, there are even subsidies between those who can afford and cannot afford it," he said.
