Police Arrest 2 Fake Police Who Robbed Motorbikes In Makassar

Makassar Police arrested two fake police officers who took the vehicle and took the valuables of the victims with a raid mode at several points in the Makassar area, South Sulawesi.

"So there are two cases with the modus operandi of the perpetrator pretending to be a member of the National Police who conducted raids on children suspected of carrying out illegal racing. According to the victim's statement, there were two perpetrators," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of Makassar Polrestabes Kompol Devi Sujana as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, October 2.

The disclosure of this case, said Kompol Devi, after receiving several police reports at the Makassar Police for two consecutive months, was a criminal act of robbery.

The perpetrators with the initials MR (24) and AW (24) were arrested by officers at different locations in Tamalate District.

The victims, on average, were teenagers, not only took motorbikes, cellphones, money and valuables, the perpetrator even tied both hands and even covered the victim's mouth and eyes with duct tape when acting at night until the early hours of the morning. The victims were Sujatmico and Arif, the targeted teenagers.

His motorbike was confiscated on charges of violating the traffic flow on Jalan Urip Sumoharjo, Makassar.

"For the crime scene (the crime scene) the first victim was four people, the perpetrator was two people. Then the second crime scene, the victim was three people, the perpetrator was two people too. Well, from the results of the statements of the seven people, we managed to reveal the perpetrators of two people," he said.

After the arrest, investigators immediately developed this case and again arrested two people suspected of being collectors of the looted goods by the perpetrators, bringing the total to four people.

"Regarding the mode that the person concerned admitted that the member of the National Police was not true. Because these victims are mostly teenagers," he asserted.

From the statements of the victims, at the first crime scene four people were raided, both hands and eyes were on the perpetrator's duct tape, and even submerged the victim in an empang near the crime scene. So there were four motorbikes that were detained by the perpetrators from the four people.

"The first TKP has a motorbike. Actually, there are four motorbikes, but because the perpetrators were two people, only one was taken by this perpetrator. So the victim's motorbike was used by the perpetrator, and the motorbike used by the other perpetrator. There was a cellphone and other valuables were taken," he said.
