KPK Public Prosecutor Presents 5 North Maluku Provincial Government Officials At AGK Bribery Session Defendant Imran Yakub, Including Acting Governor

Five provincial government officials (Pemprov) of North Maluku (Malut) were presented at the trial of the alleged bribery case of Rp1.2 billion to former North Maluku Governor Abdul Gani Kasuba (AGK) with the accused Head of the North Maluku Education and Culture Service (Dikbud) Imran Yakub.

Acting Governor of North Maluku, Samsuddin A. Kadir was one of those presented by the Public Prosecutor (JPU) of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). They had the status of witnesses in the trial held by the Ternate District Court (PN), Wednesday 2 October.

"Four top officials in the North Maluku Provincial Government [others] are the Head of the North Maluku Inspectorate, Nirwan MT Ali, the Head of the North Maluku BKD Miftah Bay, the Head of the North Maluku BKD Mutation, Idwan Asbur Bahar and officials from the BPKP RI, Okdiani," said KPK Public Prosecutor, Rikhi B when contacted in Ternate, Wednesday, October 2, confiscated by Antara.

Of the five witnesses, witnesses Okdiani was presented virtually or online.

As is known, the KPK named Imran Yakub as a new suspect in the alleged bribery and gratification case that ensnared the former Governor of North Maluku AGK.

The KPK revealed that Imran Yakub gave Rp 1.2 billion to AGK for the position of Kadikbud Malut.

AGK received money from the suspect Imran Jakub. The act was carried out using several account transactions through AGK aide, Ramdhan Ibrahim from November 2023 to December 2023 with a total transaction of IDR 1.2 billion.

The receipt of the money was on the orders of the AGK for the position of Kadikbud Malut. Imran Yakub gave the money twice. It was later discovered that the first gift was made before Imran was inaugurated in the amount of Rp 210 million. Then, the second gift after being inaugurated was Rp. 1,027,500,000.

The award is an agreement that took place between AGK and Imran, where the agreement occurred before Suspect Imran was appointed Head of North Maluku Education and Culture

In that testimony, the witness to the head of the North Maluku BKD, Miftah Baay, stated that after Imran Yakub was declared free in the narcotics corruption case and had a decision released from the Supreme Court, he immediately met him as the head of the BKD and wanted his position as Head of the North Maluku Dikbud to be returned in June 2024.

So, said Miftah Baay, when consulted with the Governor of AGK, he received an order to return Imran Yakub to the position of Dikbud, because the letter from the Supreme Court had to return Imran Yakub from the position of Dikbud Malut.

Therefore, based on the consultation, Imran Yakub must be returned to echelon II positions and the inauguration process of Imran Yakub in November 2023.
