Jokowi: Megawati-Prabowo Meeting Good For State Progress

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo said the meeting between the 5th President Megawati Soekarnoputri and Elected President Prabowo Subianto was good communication between national figures who aimed at the progress of the country and nation.

"I think the meeting was good so that communication between national figures could continue for the progress of the country, for the progress of the nation," said President Jokowi as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, October 2.

This was conveyed by President Jokowi when giving a press statement after reviewing the Kefamenanu Hospital, North Central Timor, East Nusa Tenggara.

Previously, PDI-P DPP Chairman Said Abdullah said the meeting between PDIP General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri and Elected President Prabowo Subianto was only a matter of days.

"God willing, as I said this morning, we will calculate the day of Mr. Prabowo's meeting with Mrs. Mega," said Said, Tuesday (1/10).

He did not rule out the possibility that the meeting between Megawati and Prabowo would be held this week. "God willing," he said briefly.

At the same location, President-elect Prabowo Subianto hopes that his plan to meet with the 5th President of the Republic of Indonesia as well as PDI-P General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri can be carried out before the inauguration of the elected president and vice president on October 20, 2024.

"Hopefully before the inauguration," added Prabowo.

Prabowo also agreed that the plan for his meeting with Megawati could be realized. "God willing, God willing," he said.
