JAKARTA As a popular search engine, Google Chrome provides a large tab limit to support the workflow of its users. Currently, Chrome users can open 9,000 tabs simultaneously.

With this amount of support, users often open the same tab accidentally so that the active tabs will accumulate. Initially it might be only tens, but this tab could increase in number to hundreds and would be difficult to remove at once.

Opening too many active tabs can also burden the device. Therefore, Chrome is developing a new feature that can archive duplicate tabs automatically. This feature will help users if they open multiple identical tabs accidentally.

This feature was first discovered by Chrome researchers on X with the account name Leopeva64. Quoting from the Android Authority, this feature is developed for mobile applications with Chrome Canary versions. For now, the new duplicate tab delete feature is available for testers.

To access this new feature, Chrome application users only need to open Settings by clicking the three-dot icon in the upper right corner of the screen. After scrolling the screen and tapping the Settings menu, users can search the Advanced section.

In the top menu, there is a Tab option. If taped, users will see the Inactive option with multiple time captions. At the bottom of the Inactive menu, there is an option to Archive the Duplikat Tab. If you want to enable the feature, users only need to press the toggle button.

This feature is not yet stable and still needs to be developed by Google. Although it is seen in the beta version or specifically for developers, this tab archive feature will automatically not be released. Google will receive feedback from the developer before deciding to release it or not.
