Iran Confirms The Death Of Senior IRGC Commander Due To Israeli Attacks In Lebanon Will Not Be Silent

JAKARTA - Iran's foreign ministry has confirmed that it will not silence Israel's criminal acts, spokesman Nasser Miki said on Monday, referring to the assassination of Hezbollah Leader and Deputy Commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Grada (IRGC) in last week's attack.

Brigadier General Abbas Nilforoushan was killed in an Israeli attack on Beirut on Friday, where Hezbollah Leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah was also killed.

"We stand firm and we will act in a regrettable way (by the enemy)" he said at a weekly press conference, adding Iran did not want war but was not afraid of it.

Badminton said Iran continued to follow up on the issue with the Lebanese authorities, referring to the attacks that killed Nasrallah and Brigadier General Nilforoushan.

Yesterday, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Tehran would retaliate against the Zionist regime of Israel that killed Brigadier General Nilforoushan, veteran commander and military adviser in Lebanon, quoted from Mehr.

"This heinous and coward act is another clear sign of the terrorist and criminal nature of the Zionist regime and its supporters," he stressed.

"The terrible crime of this Zionist aggressor regime will never escape the attention," said Foreign Minister Araghchi.

"The Iranian Foreign Ministry will use all its political, diplomatic, legal and international potential to try criminals and their supporters," he added.

Israel's intensive attack on Hezbollah militias in Lebanon and the Houthi militia in Yemen has sparked fears the fighting in the Middle East could spiral out of control and engage Iran, as well as Israel's main ally, the United States.
