PDIP: Megawati-Prabowo Meeting Is Not To Share Cabinet Chairs

SuRABAYA - Chairman of the East Java PDI-P DPD (PDIP East Java) Said Abdullah confirmed that the meeting of PDI-P General Chair Megawati Soekarno Putri with the elected president who is also the General Chair of the Gerindra Party, Prabowo Subianto, will be held in the near future.

Said Abdullah ensured that the meeting of Megawati and Prabowo was for the benefit of the nation, not to distribute seats in the cabinet.

"As I said, to the elected president (Prabowo) and Mrs. Mega, the two of them will meet for our common interest. Not for the benefit of distributing seats," he said in Surabaya, Thursday, September 26.

Said emphasized that the question of distributing seats from the media crew had not yet been raised to PDIP regarding the meeting between Mega and Prabowo after the 2024 Presidential and Vice Presidential Elections (Pilpres).

When the question arises 'Buya ( Said's nickname) is Mrs. Mega's meeting with Mr. Prabowo finished?' So. So, then what is the meeting to give away seats. That's not the time for the question to be submitted to the PDI-P," he explained.

The chairman of the East Java PDIP DPD also emphasized that his party did not support the Prabowo-Gibran cabinet without conditions with a meeting with Mega.

According to Said, as long as you have the same vision and mission, the presence of PDIP inside and outside the cabinet is not a problem. It's not about supporting unconditionally. If the vision is the same for us, we want to be inside (kabinet) or outside, it doesn't matter," he said.
