Riau Rohul Prosecutor's Office Processes Case Of PADes Corruption Village Head Even Though State Losses Are Returned

RIAU - The Rokan Hulu (Rohul) District Attorney's Office (Kejari) in Riau confirmed that the legal process for the New Full Village Head (Kades) named Romi Yulianto (RY) will continue even though the corruption money has been returned.

Suspect Romi in the corruption case of village original revenue management funds (PADes) in 2019-2022, has returned state financial losses of Rp518 million to the Rohul Kejari on Monday, September 23.

"Kejari Rohul menerima pengembalian kerugian keuangan negara perkara tindak pidana korupsi pengelolaan PADes Kepenuhan Baru taun 2019 - 2022 sebesar Rp518 juta," katan Kepala Seksi Pidana Khusus Kejaksaan Negeri Rohul Galih Aziz, di Pasir Pengaraian, Rabu 25 September, disitat Antara.

He said Romi was named a suspect in this case by the Investigative Team at the Special Investigation Section of the Rohul Kejari on September 2, 2024. The suspect was immediately detained by being entrusted to the Pasir Pengaraian Correctional Institution (Lapas).

Along with the investigation process, Romi returned state financial losses to investigators through his attorney.

After receiving the bill, the investigative team confiscated and stored the money in the Rohul Kejari's account at BRI Pasir Pengaraian Branch.

Galih said the returned corruption money would be evidence in the trial process and prosecution of the case. The court is scheduled to be held at the Corruption Court at the Pekanbaru District Court.

Currently, said Galih, his party is still finalizing the case file and immediately handing over the suspect and evidence or stage II, and immediately handing over the case file to the court to carry out the trial and prosecution process.

"Although this is good faith from the person concerned, the trial process and prosecution of suspect RY will still be carried out. The return of state financial losses will not erase any criminal acts that have been committed," he concluded.
