BPKP Records PNBP Corruption State Losses At Ports In Batam Capai Rp14 Billion

State financial losses alleged corruption in the management of non-tax state revenue (PNBP) services and ship delays at ports throughout Batam City reached Rp. 14 billion.

The calculation of state losses by the Representative Office of the Riau Islands Archipelago Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP) has been submitted to the Riau Islands High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati) on Tuesday, September 24.

"By submitting the documents resulting from calculating state financial losses in this case, it is an important moment in an effort to optimize the eradication of corruption crimes, especially in the Riau Islands," said Head of the Riau Islands Attorney General's Office, Teguh Subroto in Tanjungpinang, Wednesday, September 25, as reported by Antara.

He revealed that the chronology of this alleged corruption began in 2015 to 2021 when the Batam Free Trade Area and Free Port Concession Agency (BP Batam) collaborated with several companies to carry out ship guidance services and ship delay services for ports throughout the Batam area.

In its implementation, he said, there was a PNBP of 5 percent for the implementation of the ship's guidance and delay service which was not deposited into the state treasury through the Special Batam Port Authority and Authority (KSOP), Ministry of Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia.

In addition, there is also a PNBP payment of 20 percent of the ship's guidance and delay services received by BP did not match the amount they should have received.

"As a result, it is suspected that there was an act of irregularities that caused state financial losses of around Rp. 14 billion," said Teguh.

He added that until now the Special Crimes Division of the Riau Islands Prosecutor's Office is in the process of collecting evidence against the case, where the investigative team has examined 25 witnesses.

"Furthermore, based on the available evidence, the Riau Islands Prosecutor's Investigation Team will immediately determine the suspect in the case," he said.
