Visit Pontianak Market, West Kalimantan, Jokowi: Sorry 10 Years In Office There Was A Mistake

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) said goodbye and apologized to the public, including traders at Mawar Pontianak Market, West Kalimantan (West Kalimantan), if during his tenure there were mistakes and shortcomings.

"I also apologize to everyone. For 10 years I have served, there have been mistakes, mistakes, and shortcomings. I apologize profusely," said Jokowi while visiting Mawar Market Pontianak, Tuesday, September 24, as reported by Antara.

President Joko Widodo this Tuesday made a working visit to West Kalimantan to inaugurate the Bauxite Smelter owned by PT Borbneo Alumina Indonesia (BAI) located in Mempawah Regency, West Kalimantan.

However, before going to the location of the activity, the President took the time to come to Mawar Pontianak Market at 07.30 WIB, accompanied by the Acting Governor of West Kalimantan, Harison, and the ranks of the West Kalimantan Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda).

By being escorted by the authorities, President Jokowi greeted and had a dialogue with traders at Mawar Market regarding the price of goods in the market.

On that occasion, Jokowi also took pictures, distributed t-shirts, and aid money to the community.

He had asked traders about the falling prices of goods, especially the prices of shallots and chilies.

The public and traders are enthusiastic about President Jokowi's arrival to Mawar Market. The joy of President Jokowi's good leadership is considered to be a sloping thing.

"I am very happy with Pak Jokowi's leadership. We traders are very happy with Pak Jokowi's arrival," said Mamat, a trader at Mawar Market Pontianak, when interviewed in Pontianak, Tuesday, September 24.

Similar to Mamat's statement, Valentinus, a trader at Mawar Market, also said that his party was happy because a president could come to Mawar Market.

"So, we want to thank Pak Jokowi for building West Kalimantan. The results obtained have been seen, such as airports and ports, all of which have been running here," he said.

He also expressed his hope that the replacement for Jokowi would later be able to realize sustainable development, especially maintaining the stability of the prices of goods in the market.

Traders hope that price improvements in goods in the market and easier access to marketing.
