Pemalang Resort Police (Polres), Central Java, revealed a case of molestation against elementary school (SD) students allegedly carried out by two suspects with the initials MK (68) and FA (22). Both are residents of Comal District.

Pemalang Police Chief AKBP Eko Sunaryo said his party had named the two suspects on the alleged molestation case.

"The actions of the FA suspects were allegedly carried out in early 2023 and September 2023, then the MK suspect was suspected of committing his actions around July 2023. The actions of the two suspects against the victim were carried out at different times," he said in Pemalang, Antara, Tuesday, September 24.

The mode of the two suspects is suspected of giving the lure of money or eating food to the victim while playing in the school yard while waiting for his parents to pick him up.

"The victim's mother is a teacher who teaches at a school student's place. The FA suspect still has a relative relationship with the mother and victim," he said.

According to him, as a result of the actions carried out by the FA, the victim now feels uncomfortable when he meets the suspect.

"As a result, the victim told her parents what happened," he said.

Meanwhile, the disclosure of the sexual abuse case committed by the suspect in the Constitutional Court began with the suspicion of parents who saw that the victim often had money and ate snacks while waiting for pick-up.

"The victim's parents were suspicious, then asked where the money and snacks came from. Answering that question, the victim then told about the actions committed by the suspect in the Constitutional Court," he said.

According to the Police Chief, the two suspects will be subject to Article 81 paragraph (2) junto Article 76 D and/or Article 82 paragraph (1) Junto 76E of Law (UU) RI Number 17 of 2016 concerning Stipulation of Government Regulations in Lieu of Law Number 1 of 2016 concerning the second amendment to Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 23 of 2002 concerning Child Protection.

"The two suspects are threatened with a minimum prison sentence of five years and a maximum of 15 years, and a maximum fine of Rp. 5 billion," he said.
