Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menko Polhukam) Hadi Tjahjanto said President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) had ordered to form a cyber force as the fourth dimension of the Indonesian National Army (TNI).

He also said that Elected President Prabowo Subianto also paid attention to the formation of a cyber force in his upcoming government.

"Oh already, the President has ordered to form a fourth dimension, including the President-elect (Prabowo) is concerned with the fourth dimension," said Hadi after a working meeting with Commission I of the DPR at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Monday, September 23, which was confiscated by Antara.

He said that the cyber force was like a troop prepared to face the war of the mind.

"This fourth batch, this cyber dimension, is a war of the mind. So, how can we influence that this war can be won," he said.

He also considered cyber attacks to be a form of modern fighting.

"Cyber dimensions, fourth dimensions, this is how we deal with cyber attacks from outside, right? This is a non-state. In today's modern battle, our center of gravity is now a cyber war," he said.

He then said that the cyber battle contained a proxy war to propaganda.

"This cyber war requires how we deal with proxy war wars, asymmetric wars, then there are more propaganda wars," he said.

He added that in dealing with cyber warfare, adequate system equipment is needed to prevent cyber attacks.

"It is necessary to carry out a patrol unit every day, then carry out a series of mitigation," he said.

Indonesia, he said again, had also faced a cyber war during a conflict with East Timor in the past.

"I remind you that at Eastern Leste time, we had also carried out cyber warfare, but at that time we had not prepared these cyber wars," he said.

Earlier on September 12, President Joko Widodo submitted the discussion and formation of the Cyber Force as the fourth dimension of the TNI to the government of the Elected President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto.

"I think later all countries will go there. But later let the new government, Mr. President Prabowo Subianto, go there," said Jokowi at the Presidential Palace, the capital city of Nusantara, East Kalimantan, Thursday, September 12.

According to Jokowi, the existence of the Cyber Force is very good. Other countries have also begun to lead to the formation of a cyber force.
